Coming up with a plan and a system for gardening to feed your family doesn’t have to be super complicated. It does take a bit of research and some trial and error. But i discovered a great resource that will help creating a family garden plan a little easier. I was recently sent a copy of the family garden plan by melissa k. Norris from the pioneering today podcast to review. So, this post will share a bit of my experience with this book and the things that i really enjoyed about it. All opinions in this post are all my own.

Being certified by a third party, qcs, gives the consumer the added assurance that everything we produce is monitored by a strict and thorough set of rules. There are many local farms advertising their goods as "sustainable grown", "not-sprayed", or even "organic". While some of these farms are truly producing a chemical free product, some farmers many take advantage of a consumer’s trust and falsely label their produce, many times selling conventional produce bought on the open market as coming from their own fields and still somehow being "organic". Organic certification only adds a small expense to the overall farm production budget. The expense is well worth the cost to ensure folks eat their food at ease, knowing that their food is clean.
